With the sudden demise of Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, a by-election for that seat became inevitable. The By-election is likely to happen anytime before December.
All political parties have now started internal exercises to finalize the candidate for the by-election.

This election is very critical for the BRS. This is not just a sitting seat. If it cannot win even with the winds of sympathy, everyone will start writing off the party.
BRS fell to the third position in the sitting seat in Secunderabad Cantonment. Even giving a chance to the sister of the deceased MLA there was of no use.

No one expected BRS to fall to the third position in that seat, which is considered a stronghold.
If the same situation repeats in Jubilee Hills too, then, the party has to give up hopes for the GHMC Elections.

In the 2023 elections, Congress could not open its account in the GHMC area. The BJP only managed to win Goshamahal, but the situation drastically changed after that.
BRS does not have its own strength in the constituency. In 2014, Gopinath won on the TDP ticket and joined the BRS later.
Gopinath won on behalf of that party two more times, but on both occasions, the support of MIM came in handy as the Muslims Voters are the deciding factor in this constituency.
The MIM has supported BRS with a sloppy agreement instead of fielding a candidate. This time, the party is on the side of Congress.
BRS may choose Gopinath’s wife as the candidate. But if she loses, it will be a big problem for the Pink Party.
BRS has been very active on social media but is not hitting the ground. They are of the opinion that anti-incumbency is piling up on Revanth Reddy, and the Congress will automatically get defeated without doing anything.
This by-election will give them an idea.
Being in power will put the entire Government machinery at the Congress Party’s disposal; it will be a huge advantage to the Ruling Party.
