It has already taken a loan of Rs 3000 crore from the Reserve Bank. It has put an indent for another Rs 4000 crore, according to sources. Once it gets the amount, it will transfer funds to farmers.

The past government gave Rs 5000 under rythu bandhu scheme. The present government gave Rs 7625 crore for 1.52 crore acres of land under rythu bharosa scheme. As farmers with hundreds of acres were benefiting from the scheme, the Telangana government stopped the rainy season installment.

Though there is no clarity about the number of acres they will provide rythu bharosa to, it has decided to disburse funds prior to local body elections.

In view of local body elections, the government has hiked the DA of government officials. They have verbally told the officials to speed up the process of issuing ration cards.

The government had promised six schemes – Mahalakshmi scheme, Indiramma houses, rythu bharosa, gruha jyothi, yuva vikasam, cheyuta – during assembly elections. It is implementing a few from these.

But the issuing of ration cards hasn’t been completed yet. Indiramma houses are being given only recently. So, the Telangana Congress government has given orders to complete the schemes at a fast pace.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet will meet at the end of the month. Since the government stands to gain as the other parties are inactive, it is planning to announce the poll notification during the month end and conduct polls in July.

If that is the case, the schemes will be implemented quickly, say party sources.
