
It’s no longer Dial 100. From now on, dial 112 in Telangana. The change has been made across India and it is now applicable in Telangana too.
All emergency services like police, fire, road accidents, medical, women and children will now be available by dialling 112. Once you dial 112, you will be tracked through GPS and the necessary services will be provided.

The aim is to streamline processes and create a unified response to emergencies across India. Also, those travelling abroad must be aware that 112 is the emergency number used in European Union.

112 uses modern technology like mobile data terminals (MBTs) in emergency response vehicles to track the caller. They will then send the nearest vehicle to the caller.
The main reason for shifting to 112 is because it is designed to be technologically advanced. It has features like automatic call routing and integration with dispatch systems.

The response time with 112 will be 10 minutes against the past 25-30 minutes. Also, in the past one had to Dial 100 for police, 108 for ambulance, 101 for fire and 1090 for women’s grievances. Now, all one needs to do is dial 112.
