TDP’s Challa Ramachandra Reddy put up a very strong fight and Peddireddy had a narrow escape with just 6619 votes majority.

His son, Mithun Reddy also had a lucky escape. He won with a 76071 votes majority. Mithun Reddy would have lost if TDP contested from here. The ticket was given for the BJP and former CM Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy was the candidate.
