Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal recently announced his retirement from professional tennis. His final appearance in professional tennis will be at the Davis Cup, which will be held soon.

Fondly called the “King of Clay,” Nadal is renowned for his dominance on clay courts, particularly at the French Open.

Additionally, Nadal has a special connection with Andhra Pradesh. In 2010, he established the Rafa Nadal Educational and Tennis School in Anantapur, funded by his Rafa Nadal Foundation. It is the first school under his foundation.

Over the past 14 years, this school has nurtured underprivileged children, providing education through tennis and academics. Nadal has also visited Anantapur multiple times to interact with and train the kids at the school.

The foundation provides free education, funds students’ other needs, and trains them for all-around development. Post-retirement, we can expect Rafa to dedicate more time to his school in India.
