AP government has transferred the investigation of three high-profile cases—namely, the attack on the TDP Central Office, the attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s residence, and the case involving Mumbai actress Kaadambari Jethwani—to the AP Crime Investigation Department (CID). This move comes after initial inquiries by the police, with the goal of expediting the investigation and focusing on these sensitive cases.

In the case of the attack on the TDP Central Office, the police have identified 106 people as accused. Prominent figures such as MLCs Lella Appireddy, Talashila Raghuram, Devineni Avinash, and lawyer Gavaskar, along with eight others, have approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail.

The court, in response, directed the police not to take hasty action and granted interim protection from arrest until the final hearing of their petition. Despite the issuance of two notices by the Mangalagiri Rural Police to the accused, there has been a lack of cooperation in the investigation.

Similarly, in the case of the attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s Tadepalli residence, the police have so far arrested 14 people out of the 30 accused, with some individuals seeking anticipatory bail. Jogi Ramesh, the main accused, along with others, have moved through the legal system, from the lower courts to the High Court, and now to the Supreme Court, as they continue to seek relief from arrest.

Due to the inability of local police officers to focus fully on these cases, which have significant political overtones and complexity, the AP government decided to hand over the cases to the CID. This shift in jurisdiction is aimed at accelerating the process and ensuring a more thorough investigation.

Additionally, the investigation into Mumbai actress Kaadambari Jethwani’s case, which had been handled by the Vijayawada police, has also been transferred to the CID by an order from AP DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao. This case has garnered attention, but details surrounding it are still emerging.
