
The Telangana Deputy CM and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the Telangana budget today for the fiscal year 2025-26. The Rs 3.05 lakh crore budget was proposed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and was presented by Bhatti Vikramarka.
The Deputy CM and Finance Minister said that the government aims to build Rs 1000 billion economy against the Rs 200 billion economy now. Bhatti also said they were implementing various schemes like Mahalakshmi, Ryhtu Bharosa, Gruha Jyothi, Indiramma Indlu and pension distribution under cheyuta.

The total outlay of Rs 3,04,965 crore includes Rs 2,26,982 crore for revenue expenditure and Rs 36,504 crore for capital expenditure. The following are the key pointers:
The Budget proposed a master plan to transform Hyderabad into a global city of international standards, focusing on technological advancements, transportational expansion, infrastructure development and environmental conservation. As a part of this, the government launched the Musi Riverfront Development Project to make Hyderabad a pollution free city, said Bhatti Vikramarka.

The Finance Minister also proposed Vision ‘Telangana Rising 2050’ which is the pet project of CM Revanth Reddy and added that the government was shaping policies and programmes to promote sustainable growth.
The government also formulated Mega Master Plan 2050 as a part of which it is planning to set up solar and wind energy projects for a greener and more energy-efficient future. The plan is to decentralize growth across the state. As a part of this, greenfield industrial clusters will be developed in Mahabubnagar and Rangareddy districts.

The Finance Minister revealed that the state was seeing steady growth navigating rapid changes in global economic landscape.
The Finance Minister shared that Telangana’s is growing steadily, recording a 10.1% increase in state’s GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) and 9.6% rise in per capita income. Incidentally, Telangana’s per capita income is 1.8% more than India’s overall income growth.
The Telangana government allocated Rs 24,439 crore to the agriculture department to implement various schemes like Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Abhaya Hastam and others.
The Budget proposed Rs 23,108 crore foe the education sector for the year 2025-26. The focus is on infrastructure development and construction of Young India Integrated schools.
Rs 17,677 crore were set aside for municipal administration with focus on infrastructure development. As part of HICITI initiative, the government will bring undertaking construction of 31 flyovers and 17 underpasses at a cost of Rs 7032 crore.
The ORR phase II water supply scheme is being implemented with an outlay of Rs 5942 crore.
The state is developing Future City in 765 Sq km with the establishment of Future City Development Authority.
Coming to SC, ST welfare, the Budget has allocated Rs 40,232 crore for SC welfare and Rs 17,169 crore for ST development in the fiscal year 2025-26.
Irrigation sector gets Rs 23,373 crore and all projects will be categorized as Group A and Group B based on urgency.
Future City will host AI hub and Google will set up an AI powered accelerated center.
The government has allocated Rs 3591 crore for minority welfare.
Rs 21,221 crore has been set aside for energy department with plans to complete Yadadri Thermal Power Plant by May 2025.
The budget Allocates Rs 75,000 crore for welfare schemes. Rs 11,405 for backward classes welfare is and Rs 2862 crore for women and child welfare department.
A total of Rs 12,393 has been allocated for health, family welfare and medical departments. The government announced establishment of 95 new, free dialysis centers in addition to the existing 102 centers.
Telangana is also keen on ‘China +1’ strategy for industrial growth. The government proposes to become a manufacturing hub in pharmaceuticals, bio- technology, electric vehicles and renewable energy.
Development of industrial corridors and SEZs (special economic zone) for employment for youth.
The budget releases Rs 1775.15 crore for Gruha Jyoti scheme and Rs 22,500 for Indiramma Housing scheme.
Effort is on to develop satellite townships around Hyderabad along ORR for affordable housing for middle class and low income groups.
Rs 20,616.89 crore has been given for loan waiver to 25.35 lakh farmers.
Rs 1674 crore for animal husbandry and export-oriented wholesale fish market at Koheda proposed.
Rs 433.20 crore for LPG cylinder refill at Rs 500 for eligible women.
Warangal as hub for education, Healthcare and IT. Nizamabad and Khammam as centers for agri-based manufacturing and industries.
Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs to be revitalized. Four sewage treatment plants will come up. And the reservoirs will be replenished with Godavari water under Godavari Drinking Water Supply Scheme.
Rs 4500 crore for newly developed municipalities and urban development authorities.
Rs 17,677 crore for MAUD department. India’s first net zero city, Future City, will be developed.
SPEED (Smart, pro-active, efficient and effective delivery) for speedy development of 19 key projects including metro expansion.
Rs 5907 crore for Roads & Building department. Rs 775 crore for Tourism department and Rs 465 crore for Sports department.
Rs 1023 crore for forest & environment department and Rs 190 crore for endowments department. Government proposes Yadagirigutta Temple Board.
Rs 10,188 crore for Home Department. It gets 6.52% hike where tech-driven policing and drug control remain top priority.
