The government of Telangana, which is facing a financial crunch, has been struggling to fulfil the six promises made to the public during the 2023 Assembly Elections.

In light of this, it has taken significant decisions to save the budget. According to the latest reports, the Telangana government has imposed restrictions on the budget allocated to various government sectors.

The government has decided to ban foreign trips for officials related to study tours, seminars, and workshops. Such trips will now be allowed with a minimum number of delegates and only under unavoidable circumstances.

Expenditure limitations have also been enforced on purchasing new furniture for government offices and official residences. Additionally, the government has decided not to procure new vehicles for officials or replacements for condemned vehicles.

The Chief Secretary has ordered all government offices to save electricity by switching off fans, lights, and air conditioners when not in use, particularly at the end of the day. Employees have also been instructed to unplug electronic equipment when not required.

Reportedly, these cost-cutting measures have been implemented to save funds for fulfilling the promises made to the public. The government also believes these steps will promote fiscal discipline while limiting operational inefficiency.
