In a rather surprising incident, Miss England Milla Magee left the Miss World 2025 pageant. She says she was treated like a prostitute, that left her deeply hurt.
Initially, her exit was attributed to personal reasons. But later, in an interview given to The Sun, Magee disclosed that she felt objectified. She said the contestants were given ‘superficial treatment’ and there was lack of respect.

Magee revealed some disturbing incidents in Hyderabad that left her feeling objectified. She criticized the Miss World Pageant for valuing appearance over substance despite the ‘beauty with a purpose’ slogan.
I went there to make a difference, but we had to sit like performing monkeys, she said.

Miss England runner-up Charlotte Grant will take her place in the finals of the pageant. Magee’s exit has sparked a debate on the practices and relevance of international beauty pageants.
Magee happens to be an advocate of plus size and campaigner for CPR awareness cause backed by Prince Charles. She told The Sun about her disillusionment with the lack of genuine change within the Miss World organisation.

Magee said she decided to take a stand after being paraded in front of wealthy male sponsors. She is the first Miss England to quit the pageant in 74 years.
It is indeed a blow to the Telangana CM Revanth Reddy who was pushing for Hyderabad’s image on a global platform. He also said the pageant would lead to more investments in the state.
