After a day long legal arrest and high drama he Vijayawada court has ordered a 14-day judicial remand for Gannavaram YSRCP leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.

Along with him, co-accused Lakshmipathi and Krishna Prasad have also been remanded for 14 days.

Vamsi was arrested in My Home Bhooja apartments in Hyderabad and produced before the Vijayawada court on Thursday night. Government counsel Veeragandham Rajendra Prasad argued on behalf of the prosecution, while Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy represented Vamsi.

The court hearing lasted from 11 PM to 1:45 AM post mid-night and as arguments remained inconclusive, the judge extended the session for another 30 minutes before ordering the remand.

The police made crucial revelations in the remand report, stating that Vallabhaneni Vamsi played a key role in intimidating Satyavardhan. They noted that Satyavardhan obeyed Vamsi’s plan out of fear for his life. The report further mentioned that Vamsi has a criminal history with 16 cases against him. Based on orders from the NTR district police commissioner, four special teams were formed, and with information from Visakhapatnam police, Vamsi was brought to Vijayawada.

Vamsi was arrested in Hyderabad on Thursday morning by AP police in connection with allegations of kidnapping and assaulting Satyavardhan, an employee at the TDP office.

Several charges, including non-bailable sections under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, were filed against him and other accused. While Vamsi was arrested in Hyderabad, co-accused Krishna Prasad and Lakshmipathi were apprehended in Vijayawada. Meanwhile, Satyavardhan recorded his statement at the Vijayawada Patamata police station.

Upon being brought to Vijayawada, Vamsi was interrogated for nearly eight hours at the Krishna Lanka police station. Later, he and the other accused underwent medical examinations at the Vijayawada Government Hospital before being presented before the magistrate. With this, the suspense came to an end, and Vallabhaneni Vamsi was sent to 14 days’ remand.
