Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a prominent figure in the YSRCP, appears to be distancing himself from the party after being excluded from Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cabinet. His discontent has grown since the cabinet reshuffle, and reports suggest he may be on the verge of leaving the party. Recently, he held discussions with his supporters and corporators from Ongole at his residence in Hyderabad.
YS Jagan’s response has raised eyebrows, as he sent relatively junior leaders like Vidadala Rajini and Satish Reddy to mediate with Balineni, rather than involving senior figures such as Ambati Rambabu, Vijaysai Reddy, or Botsa Satyanarayana.

Vidadala Rajini, a former TDP member who joined YSRCP before the 2019 elections, lacks the political experience and stature that Balineni has. This decision has led to speculation that Jagan might be intentionally sidelining Balineni, or that he is taking Balineni’s concerns lightly.
Balineni’s long-standing association with YSRCP, especially after his loyalty following YSR’s death, adds complexity to the situation. His potential departure could affect YSRCP’s political dynamics in Ongole, especially considering his electoral losses in 2014 and 2024, which might make him reconsider his future within the party.
