GVMC (Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation) has delivered a significant blow to YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy’s daughter, Neha Reddy. The illegal structures constructed by Neha Reddy are being demolished. She had undertaken the construction of barricades at Bhimili Beach in violation of CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) rules.
Janasena corporator Murthy Yadav filed a PIL in the High Court, alleging that Neha Reddy was violating CRZ rules. The High Court issued orders to the authorities to prevent the construction of concrete structures on the beach. On the 2nd of this month, GVMC issued notices to Neha Reddy, warning that the encroachments should be removed within 24 hours or they would be demolished by the authorities.

Following these orders, GVMC officials have begun the process of demolishing the illegal constructions. Neha Reddy had built a concrete wall at Bhimili Beach in Visakhapatnam district, very close to the sea, in violation of CRZ regulations.
Last month, the High Court directed the authorities to submit a report detailing the steps taken in the demolition process and adjourned the next hearing to September 11. Advocate Ponnada Srivyas, representing Janasena corporator Murthy Yadav, argued that the authorities were not taking sufficient action despite the ongoing illegal construction near Bhimili Beach.
