Beer Cost Crash in India

It is being reported that due to an FTA signed between India and UK, the tariffs on British beer are supposed to drop from 125% to 75%. This will result in the price drop of beer and availability of more options of British beer brands.

This is also applicable to some whisky brands too. Many media pages are claiming that this means that the beer earlier being sold at 200 rupees will now be available in only 50 rupees.

This has sent beer lovers on a joyous celebration as it is one of the favourite summer options in alcoholic beverages. But this might not be entirely true as state taxes and additional costs also impact the market price.

However, the availability of options and decrease in price is a great relief. But many local Indian brands are not happy about the same as their sales will decline heavily and they are criticising governments claims for Make in India.
