A Blinkit job opening has gone viral on the internet, catching the eyes of social media due to the sheer volume of applicants.

While the company desired just 1 employee for the job of Software development engineer, things quickly got out of hand as 13,451 applicants applied for it just on Day 1.

Out of these, while 13% were pros in their line of work with a master’s degree to show for themselves, a whopping 74% were just normal graduates, falling into the entry-level category.

This goes on to show the pitiful state of a bachelor’s degree in our country, especially in the field of tech.

A bachelor’s degree is almost worthless nowadays as it even fails to provide food on the table anymore.

If a company has to shortlist from such a massive list, it will, of course, give preference to those with a master’s degree, leaving the bachelors to fend for themselves.

While social media is busy poking fun at the situation, the writing on the wall for the graduates seems as dark as ever.




The government and the administration should take note of this and implement steps to give graduation a meaningful value so that sky-high unemployment gets a long-term solution.
