The ₹25 crore robbery at a Tanishq store in Bihar’s Arrah once again exposes the collapse of law and order in the state. Criminals stormed the store in broad daylight, held staff at gunpoint, and looted valuables without any fear.
The robbery happened near a police station, yet officers arrived only after the criminals had escaped.

This is not an isolated case. Bihar continues to struggle with rising crime, from extortion to kidnappings and daylight murders. Business owners live in fear, often forced to pay protection money. The police, either slow or ineffective, rarely prevent such incidents, and criminals act with impunity.
The so-called police “encounter” of two robbers after the heist may be projected as success, but it does not address the larger failure. Why was such a massive crime allowed in the first place? Why did the police fail to respond in time? These questions remain unanswered.
