A shocking incident in a private school in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, has sparked anger among parents. On Thursday, during a ‘Pen Day’ celebration, the school principal allegedly forced Class 10 girls to remove their shirts and sent them home wearing only their blazers.

‘Pen Day’ serves as a tradition where students write good wishes on each other’s shirts to mark their final exam day. However, the principal reportedly didn’t approve of the celebration. Following which, around 100 female students were scolded and told to remove their shirts.

The girls shared their experience with their families after returning home, leading to widespread outrage.

Furious parents, joined by local legislator Ragini Singh, went to the Deputy Commissioner’s office to demand action. They called the principal’s actions “shameful” and “draconian.”

Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra assured parents that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter. However, many parents remain skeptical, accusing the authorities of being slow to act in such cases and failing to prevent such incidents in schools.

The principal’s actions have been widely criticized as insensitive and degrading. The parents are questioning continuously, as to how such treatment was allowed in a reputed institution.




The delay in taking immediate action has added to the frustration, with parents demanding accountability not just from the principal but from the school management as well.
