A lot is at stake when you’re representing your country at a stage as big as the Olympics. And at this grand level, appearances do matter. A competition and a medal comes only after the opening ceremony in which the whole world watches the contingent and what they’re wearing. Unfortunately, the Indian contingent was let down by the management and their costume for the parade is being widely criticized by the fans.
The Indian contingent wore a white saree and kurta pajama with the colors from the Indian flag in the borders. Not only the fans disliked the very basic design, they also were shocked to see the promotion of the label that designed them.

The border of these costumes had the logo of the fashion label that designed these costumes. It is co-owned by a giant corporation and this has had the fans fuming. The matter is of national pride and commercial use of the platform for promoting a brand is unacceptable.
While the Indian contingent was let down by a below par outfit that many accused to be inspired from the independence day school functions, there was one team which is making it to the headlines just for their outfit. Mongolia sends a small contingent to the Olympics given its small population but their stunning outfit has caught the attention of the whole world. This is definitely something to take inspiration from and a lesson for the Indian management.

Not only has Tarun Tahiliani designed this dress which a lot of people are disliking, he has also put the logo of TASVA on the borders of the dress.
