Infosys Mass Layoffs: Interns Face Cruel Treatment

The waves of criticism don’t seem to be leaving the side of Infosys Chairman Emeritus Narayan Murthy, much due to the controversial acts of his own company.

In a brand new set of events, the company has reportedly terminated over 400 trainees in Mysuru, garnering widespread criticism online.

Reports say that the company has also initiated the process of mass layoffs for almost 700 campus recruits, who joined the company just back in October 2024.

Infosys has gone far enough to deploy bouncers to intimidate its employees into submission, as well as to prevent anyone from taking in their smartphone to document the incident or plead for help.

The internet has been outraged by the company’s acts, with many questioning Narayan Murthy’s ethical and moral compass regarding providing basic respectable treatment to his own employees.

One social media user said, “Using bouncers to intimidate employees? This is a new low for corporate ethics.”

Another commented, “Laying off fresh recruits within months is not just unprofessional; it’s inhumane.”

A third user took a satirical route, remarking, “Maybe Infosys is training bouncers now? Diversifying their portfolio!”

The company and its top management need to understand that this kind of behaviour will only prove to be detrimental to the company in the long run, damaging its painstakingly built reputation.

The company should treat their employees with respect if it wants them to work with their full potential.
