50K Robbery Under High Alert

A masked intruder broke into a pub in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar early Monday morning, stealing ₹50,000 and escaping despite a large-scale police operation.

The suspect, reportedly armed with a pistol, entered Geometry Pub around 3:30 AM through the rear door. Wearing black clothes, gloves, and a mask, he is said to have threatened staff, disabled several CCTV cameras, and locked the doors before taking cash from the drawer.

The pub’s security guard managed to lock himself in a room and dialed the 112 emergency number. Within minutes, police teams arrived at the scene. Authorities launched an extensive search involving SWAT commandos, bomb squads, drones, and roadblocks across the area. Despite their efforts, the suspect managed to evade capture, possibly escaping through an alternate exit such as the kitchen.

According to officials, the CCTV system showed movement on the upper floors before several recordings disappeared, indicating the system had been tampered with.

Investigators are now examining footage from nearby establishments and questioning staff to determine if the suspect had prior knowledge of the premises.

While no one was injured during the incident, the break-in has raised concerns about security at nightlife venues in Bengaluru. Authorities have increased patrols in Rajajinagar and nearby areas such as Malleswaram.
