Marriage Scam Shocker

A 23-year-old woman named Anuradha Paswan has been arrested by Rajasthan Police for allegedly duping 25 men through repeated marriages.

A native of Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, she was living in Bhopal after conning a man named Vishnu Sharma from Sawai Madhopur. Sharma, a cart puller, was introduced to Anuradha by a man named Pappu Meena, who arranged their marriage in exchange for two lakh rupees.

According to Sharma, Anuradha lived with his family for 13 days before allegedly drugging them and fleeing with cash, jewelry, and a mobile phone. The police registered a case on May 3 and began tracking her based on the address in the marriage documents, which turned out to be false.

The investigating officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector Meetha Lal Yadav, said their team stayed in Bhopal, disguised their motive by pretending to seek a bride for one of their members, and gathered local information.

After four days, someone identified her photograph, and police found her living with another man named Gabbar in Kalapipal, whom she had married recently and was planning to cheat.

Upon interrogation, Anuradha and her agents confessed to carrying out similar scams across various locations, marrying about 25 men in total.

She was arrested on Sunday and presented in court. Police are still questioning her associates and searching for others involved in the operation.




The case has shocked many due to its scale and the systematic way in which the fraud was conducted. Authorities are now looking into similar complaints in other states.
