Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways, recently addressed the poor conditions of the roads in India and promised that soon, the Indian road infrastructure will be better than that of America.
If you’re having a deja vu moment, you’re right to feel so because this is the same script repeated every two years without any signs of actual progress.

Gadkari has been serving in Modi’s cabinet since 2014. And just like any other politician he is great at selling dreams but fails to deliver on them.
Unfortunately, people keep buying them and continue to support him. But everyone has a breaking point.

Netizens are fed up with the false claims of the Road minister. They called out Gadkari for making the same promise of achieving this world-class status by 2024, which is not even close to completion.
The sad reality is that the government only remembers to build new roads and highways when the election season is around. And after one monsoon those roads get caved in, full of potholes due to corruption and poor infrastructure.

Apart from short-term and temporary solutions, there seems to be a lack of vision and vigilance from the government. Instead, they come by every two years to sell the same dreams thinking that no one will remember anyway.
