Mumbai, often called the “land of dreams,” attracts people from across India and the world, each bringing their own languages and cultures.

Ironically, in the forced apology video, the delivery boy doesn’t even speak Marathi—and yet, the so-called protectors of the language had no objection this time.

In a multicultural society, it’s courteous to adapt and learn local customs—but it isn’t a crime if you haven’t yet.

Respecting diversity also means being patient with those who are still learning to adapt.

India is the most multilingual country in the world, with over 700 languages and around 1,369 mother tongues. It’s impossible to impress everyone.

What we can do is bridge these divides through empathy and compassion.

Instead of enforcing cultural pride through intimidation, we should uphold the dignity of every individual, regardless of the language they speak.
