Bengaluru’s New Year celebrations in 2025 were full of excitement, but there was also a side that raised concerns. Many people were seen very drunk, struggling to stand, and even falling on the streets. What should have been a fun celebration turned into a scene of people losing control and dignity in public.
Even more troubling was how some of these moments were filmed and shared on social media. People who were drunk and in embarrassing situations were filmed without their consent and posted online.

As one commenter pointed out, “It’s gross to post their videos online. Unless they’ve committed anything illegal, there’s no reason to share this.” Another commenter expressed, “Only a motherf****r would post these videos. They’d be sued.” This type of content can harm the people shown, and it’s important to remember they didn’t choose to be filmed.
Posting these videos is disrespectful and can be harmful. It’s important to remember that sharing something like this can have serious consequences, even if it seems harmless.

One person noted, “How can you post this without their permission? Isn’t this defamation?” Instead of focusing on making fun of people who are struggling, we should focus on celebrating responsibly and treating everyone with respect.
When using social media, we should think before we post. As another commenter said, “People should drink only so much that they can handle and maintain their dignity thereafter.” But still everyone deserves privacy and dignity, and we should always ask ourselves if sharing something will harm someone else.
