Shocking Attack at Ladies’ Coach

An empty alcohol bottle was thrown into the ladies’ compartment of a moving Mumbai local train, causing panic among passengers. The incident occurred on the 8:30 PM Titwala local after it crossed Masjid station and was heading towards Sandhurst Road.

The bottle, allegedly thrown from a train moving in the opposite direction, first hit the compartment’s fan, shattering into pieces.

A fragment struck an 18-year-old passenger, Amina Khan, who was sitting in the compartment. Fortunately, she did not suffer serious injuries, but the incident left passengers shaken.

A 29-year-old passenger, Pranavi Billa, picked up the broken bottle and approached the female police constables present in the compartment to report the incident. However, they reportedly ignored her complaint. Pranavi expressed her frustration, stating, “I tried to ask the police to take some action, but they did not respond at all.”

Fellow passengers who were also in the compartment described the situation as terrifying. Despite the growing concerns about women’s safety in public transport, incidents like these continue to occur with little accountability. The presence of police officers should have reassured passengers, but their inaction only reinforced the vulnerability many women feel while commuting.

As a reaction, passengers are now calling for stricter security measures and prompt action against such reckless behavior to ensure that local trains remain safe for all commuters.
