Team India witnessed a historic defeat in the Test series against New Zealand. The visitors Kiwis handed over a 3-0 defeat to the hosts and made them look like puppets on the pitch.
In the third test held in Wankhede, India had a target of 147 runs to win the test after New Zealand got all-out for 174 in its second innings. Though the target was small, it was a daunting task for Indians as our batters struggled to survive against spinners in this series and the ball was turning ferociously in this game.

Once again, our batters struggled against Kiwi spinners and got all out for just 121 runs. Only Rishab Pant (64) was the saving grace in this historic collapse.
This is the first time in India’s Test history that they’ve been whitewashed in a Test series of three or more matches. This is also the first-ever instance of New Zealand winning three Tests in a series (home or away).

Meanwhile, fans are blaming three big heads in the current team for this shameful defeat. They are coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli.
Ever since Gambhir took over the coaching responsibilities, India has been setting up forgettable records. It lost an ODI series against Sri Lanka after 24 years and now, it lost a home Test series after a gap of 12 years. People felt that Gambhir is just clueless about the team selection and formation this time.

Rohit Sharma is also being equally blamed by fans. His captaincy was the poorest in ages in this series. He failed to read the game every single instance in the series, resulting in losing three games. On the batting front also, Rohit was horrible. In six innings of three tests, he made just 91 runs.
The same is the case with Virat Kohli. He made a total of 93 runs in the six innings he played in three tests. This is not expected from senior players like them.
Fans felt that it was time for the star players to bid adieu to Test matches just like they had done with the T20is. They also demanded BCCI to give more chances to seasoned Test players like Pujara, Rahane, Abhimanyu Eeswaran and Sarfaraz Khan instead of sticking with Rohit and Virat, who are just out of their prime in Tests.
