
Filled with its fair share of controversies, the Indian Premier League 2025 seems to be going as debated as ever.
The latest controversy is regarding the inaugural event, where renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal introduced each team with their own songs.

While teams like SRH and CSK had ‘Sooseki’ and ‘Yuva’ as their songs, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had ‘Zinda’ as their intro song.
This has led to a massive backlash from the Bengaluru locals, who are complaining about CSK and SRK getting songs in Tamil and Telugu, respectively, while RCB gets a Hindi song.

While it is true that RCB has a massive pan-India fanbase, the management should have taken note of this earlier, especially due to the ongoing language tensions, and assigned a proper Kannada song to RCB.
This would not have been a major issue if the other teams like SRH and CSK had gotten Hindi songs as well, but it seems unfair for only RCB to not have a song in their team’s core language when all the others are having it.

With the tempers not cooling down anytime soon, it will be interesting to see if this controversy affects the play in any shape or form.
