
MS Dhoni has been at the core of the IPL ever since the league grew its baby feet in 2008. He has been one of the few players to participate in all the seasons of the IPL, also making him the oldest player at 43 to be currently a part of the league.
While CSK fans still relish seeing their ‘thala’ coming out to bat, there has been an increasing faction of team supporters who want the legend to bid adieu to the game while there is still time left.

However, Thala Dhoni has shown no particular inclination towards leaving the game anytime soon.
He seemed to repeat his classic ‘I’ll take a look at my body and then I’ll decide’ phrase this year as well, which means that we would most likely witness him wearing the pads once again in 2026.

This begs the question — How long does MS Dhoni think he can go on with little to no actual contribution from the bat in crunch situations, with just having the ‘quickest hands’ in wicketkeeping?
It will be interesting to see if he finally realises the same and makes way for the younger generation to snatch the 6th trophy in the next season of the IPL.
