Pradeep Ranganathan

Following the blockbuster success of Dragon, Pradeep Ranganathan is currently acting as the lead in two projects: Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), directed by Vignesh Shivan, and Dude, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran.

A few days ago, the Dude team officially announced that the movie is going to be released in five languages—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi—on Diwali.

Since the announcement, every Kollywood audience member believes that Dude will be Pradeep Ranganathan’s next release after Dragon, and LIK will be released later.

But surprisingly, yesterday, the LIK team announced that the movie is going to hit the screens on September 18th, before Dude.

If LIK and Dude are released as planned, then Pradeep Ranganathan will have three releases this year. Following this, some netizens commented that this is a bad strategy by Pradeep Ranganathan, as people may feel bored or overwhelmed by back-to-back releases.

Vijay Sethupathi is the best example of this, as his movies were once released almost every month, and most of the films ended up as disasters. So, Pradeep Ranganathan should plan accordingly and should release one or two movies every year, which is more than enough.

However, it remains to be seen whether LIK and Dude become blockbusters after their release and if Pradeep Ranganathan’s success streak continues.
