Mandela, starring Yogi Babu in the lead and directed by Madonne Ashwin, was a tremendous success, and Madonne has acquired a National Award for best debut film of a director.

Then he did a commercial entertainer movie with Sivakarthikeyan, Maaveeran. Even though the movie has acquired positive responses from the audiences, the movie ended up as an average one in the Box Office collections.

Now there is a strong buzz that he is going to direct a Hindi movie under Karan Johar’s production, and the post-production of this movie has already started, and the shooting of this movie is going to start in a few months.
Karan Johar has a huge respect for South Indian cinema, and even he has mentioned it in many interviews and hosted promotional events for popular movies in South India. He also produced the South Indian Telugu movie Liger.
