The movie Benz was announced many months ago, yet the shooting only started yesterday. This movie has huge expectations among Kollywood audiences as, according to reports, it is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Cinematic Universe (LCU).

Furthermore, the story of Benz was written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and the project is being produced by him under his G Squad Productions.
Following this, netizens on social media commented that even though the idea of adding more characters to the LCU is interesting, Lokesh Kanagaraj should direct the movie himself.

Giving the directorial duties to his friend Bakkiyaraj Kannan may end up being a terrible blunder, as Kollywood audiences feel that if Bakkiyaraj Kannan fails to capture Lokesh Kanagaraj’s essence in the script, the Benz character may end up as the weakest link in the LCU. It will also have effect on other films in the LCU.
However, it remains to be seen how Benz will shape up in the future and whether it will satisfy audience expectations and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release.
