Shruti Haasan will play one of the leads in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. A glimpse of Shruti’s look from the film also went viral on the occasion of Lokesh’s birthday on March 15, 2025.
The actress appeared in a simple look without adding a lot of accessories and makeup and she was spotted speaking to Lokesh in the photo. Shruti’s new look is now grabbing a lot of attention on social media and it has hinted that her character might turn out to be very simple.

Although the film’s storyline remains unknown for now, an Instagram post shared by Sun Pictures in August last year also featured Shruti in a similar look and the name of her character was revealed as Preethi.
Shruti’s new look is also trending for another reason since audiences were expecting her to be the glamour quotient of Coolie. However, it seems like Pooja Hegde’s item song will be the only glamorous thing about the film.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for putting more focus on his hero instead of the lead actress. Things might turn out to be different this time and people might get to see Shruti Haasan getting similar screen space like Rajinikanth and the others appearing alongside the superstar.
Although Coolie’s release date is not announced yet, it is arriving sometime this year. It seems like the makers have already started their promotions and it remains to be seen if a trailer or any other promotional material is released in the next few months.
