Given these back-to-back expected hits, many have pointed out whether Sasikumar is trying to replicate Mohanlal’s success at the box office.

Mohanlal is also expected to set a milestone with his recent back-to-back releases, Thudarum and L2: Empuraan, projected to gross over Rs 500 crore worldwide.

Both actors demonstrate mass appeal, emotional depth, and socially significant elements in their movies, which can account for their solid performance at the box office.

Despite their numerous similarities, Sasikumar may need some time to duplicate Mohanlal’s larger-scale capabilities.

Mohanlal’s current projects are high-budget, pan-India spectacles like L2: Empuraan, while Sasikumar is seen focusing on smaller, content-driven films like Tourist Family.

Mohanlal embraces mass action and larger-than-life roles, whereas Sasikumar leans towards realistic, socially driven dramas.

Although Mohanlal’s scale is unmatched it doesn’t seem like a big hassle for Sasikumar to compete with considering he’s already topping charts even with Tamil audience specific films.

It is reasonable to wonder if there is a pattern to these successes given the talents coming out of the Malayalam film industry and their global recognition, but ultimately, it all comes down to the film and its reception from the audience.
