In a development that has shocked both the South film industry and political circles, Tamil actor Srikanth has come under the scanner of the Chennai Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU). This is in connection with a high-profile cocaine case.
The probe began after the arrest of AIADMK IT wing member Prasad and his associates in a drug supply operation. During interrogation, Srikanth’s name reportedly surfaced.

Known for films like Roja Poolu, Manasellam, and Parthiban Kanavu, Srikanth now finds himself embroiled in serious allegations. Pradeep Kumar, one of the arrested individuals, claimed he sold one gram of cocaine to the actor for 12,000.
This disclosure came during an investigation linked to a violent bar brawl in Nungambakkam. That altercation involved former AIADMK members and the notorious gangster Tsunami Sethupathi.

Srikanth has already undergone medical testing at Kilpauk Government Hospital to determine if he consumed narcotics.
While official results remain undisclosed, sources say that if drug use is confirmed, he could face arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This law is among the most stringent in India.

The investigation has also sparked political fallout. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has expelled Prasad from the party. This comes in light of multiple allegations ranging from fraud to drug links.
The ANIU’s probe appears to be widening. Insiders suggest more names—possibly from both the film and political world—could soon come out.
This case has revived memories of earlier drug scandals that once rattled the Tamil film industry. For Srikanth, once a household name for romantic and family entertainers, the situation marks a serious low point in his career.
With legal consequences looming and his public image in trouble, the coming days could define his future. As the investigation deepens, the industry is bracing for more revelations. The public, meanwhile, is watching closely.
