Billionaires have started picking sides in the 2024 US elections and Kamala Harris has got a clear edge.
Bill Gates became the latest public supporter of the US Vice President. The former Microsoft CEO donated about $50 million to a “dark money” group supporting the Democratic campaign.

The groups that support these candidates don’t have to reveal their donors, so there aren’t many public names. However, the data suggests that Kamala Harris has 81 billionaires on her side, while her rival has only 50 backing him.
Although Trump has his loudest supporter in Elon Musk, even he is outnumbered by his rivals. Reports suggest that Kamala Harris’ billionaire supporters include people like Mike Bloomberg, who’s considering matching Gates’ contribution.

A recent survey of millionaire investors also shows Harris ahead, with 57% favoring her over Trump. They believe her policies will benefit sectors like tech, healthcare, and sustainability.
It is not just her policies though. The Democratic candidate has built good relations with multiple Silicon Valley giants during her time as a prosecutor in California.

As it stands, Kamala Harris is winning the battle of the billionaires, and they’re betting big on her vision of a stable economy. Trump’s side, though powerful, seems to be shrinking in comparison.
