And this fear isn’t completely misplaced. The rules are stricter than ever, and every little violation is getting flagged through SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Informations System)
Therefore, something as trivial as a speeding ticket can trigger a full-blown immigration crisis. While the student is thinking about taking a defensive driving course to get the ticket dismissed, it is highly unlikely it will remove this black mark from his record.
