A US citizen from Virginia took to social media to share his wife’s situation. He claims her family came here legally on H-1B visas that are valid until 2029. When they tried to apply for permanent residency, not only were they denied, but they were also told to leave the country in just 18 days.

They say that their record is clean- came legally, paid taxes, and followed the process. However, allegedly, the immigration lawyer mishandled the PERM application either by missing key deadlines, filing incomplete documents, or not responding to USCIS requests.
The husband made it clear that he isn’t leaving his wife. But without the resources to fight back and no guarantee that they’ll win, they’re facing imminent deportation.

As many immigration students and workers have been facing visa terminations and summons from the authorities, deportation still remains a large threat to the community.
