One man’s big day quickly took a turn as he got an H-1B RFE (Request for Evidence) after getting his green card approved.
Taking to social media, he shared that his adjustment of status (I-485) got approved under EB2. However, at the same time, his H-1B change of status, filed by the employer, was flagged for an RFE.

Now he’s stuck wondering whether he needs to respond or not. Many believe he can safely ignore the RFE. After all, once the green card is approved, H1B status becomes irrelevant.
However, with no card in hand yet, the man fears he may fall into a legal trap later. Once a green card is approved, any pending non-immigrant status like H1B should be withdrawn or become void by default.
