The US Airport authorities have caught an Indian-origin man trying to smuggle 32 Kg of methamphetamine in drug-soaked clothes. He is now facing serious charges which can lead to a life sentence.

Raj Matharu was about to board a flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Sydney, Australia earlier this month. During a routine luggage scan, the officers noticed something unusual in his pink and grey suitcases and decided to open them.

The 31-year-old Indian-American thought he could fool the security scan by dousing over a dozen clothes with drugs. On inspection the authorities found his garments covered with a white substance, which lab tests confirmed as meth.

Matharu has been charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and is currently out on a $10,000 bond. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced to life.
