A gang involving Indian-origin men was busted for smuggling drugs and illegal cash in the UK. In a clever attempt, the gang used raw chicken pallets and car tires to conceal their consignment. However, they couldn’t fool the UK police for long and finally got caught.

Maninder Dosanjh, 39, Amandeep Rishi, 42, and Mandeep Singh, 42, are the three Indian men who were part of a ten-member gang that was arrested by the Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU). They seized 400 kg of cocaine and over GBP 1.6 million in cash from their vehicles.

The gang used to smuggle drugs hidden in the stash of frozen chicken and raw chicken pallets. Moreover, they hid the cash in their van’s tires which were cut open by the police during the seizure. It is fascinating to see the innovative methods these gangs go through to conduct their illegal activities. It was found that they had been running this racket for years. Hence, there’s no doubt that they must have smuggled tons of cocaine and illegal cash some other way as well.

The court proceedings were concluded on August 24. The three Indian men now face an imprisonment ranging between two and 16 years. Around millions of people are reported drug users in the UK. While this does not curb the drug problem it is a step in the positive direction.
