According to data from OpenSecrets, which tracks campaign donations, employees at Musk’s companies have donated more to Kamala Harris than to Trump.

Tesla workers have given $42,824 to Kamala Harris and $24,840 to Trump. SpaceX employees contributed $34,526 to Kamala Harris and $7,652 to Trump. At X, donations are $13,213 for Kamala Harris and less than $500 for Trump.

Despite the larger donations to Harris, these amounts are relatively small compared to total campaign funds. Musk, who supported Joe Biden in 2020, has now aligned with Trump and criticized progressive policies. If Trump wins, he has promised to appoint Musk to lead a government efficiency commission.

The donations reported come from employees, company owners, and their families, as companies themselves cannot directly donate to federal campaigns. This contrast highlights the political divide within Musk’s companies.
