Post-COVID, the U.S. has opened the gates for Master’s students, which has resulted in a flood of students in the U.S. who are struggling to extend their stay. Very few, who are lucky enough to get picked in the H1B lottery, are stressing to find jobs.
There is a job post screenshot going viral on WhatsApp, but we couldn’t verify the authenticity of it. The Java job post from a Mphasis, Texas employer has a special mention about ‘No Andhra, Telangana, and JNTU graduates,’ which constitutes clear discrimination, and the employer could land in jail if someone raises a legal complaint.

On the other hand, employers are also frustrated with fake interviews. Prior to COVID, voice interviews were the most common, but post-COVID, many Desi employers are complaining that these Master’s students in the U.S. are doing proxy interviews, even in Zoom video calls, by lip-syncing while someone else provides the voice. It has become a big headache, as students are coming up with innovative ways to cheat in interviews.
Students too complain about Desi employers who are exploiting them, stealing their pay by paying minimum hourly rates, and locking them in with the promise of H1B and Green Card filings.

Whatever the case, if there is any authenticity to this viral job post, it’s a shame on both students and Desi employers, as both are blamed for different reasons. It only exposes them and paints other fellow Indians in a bad light.
