The horrors of Dunki came to the mainstream realization of the Indian audience after Shah Rukh Khan’s recent film. While many might have forgotten, it remains a tragic reality for the illegal immigrants jumping from one nation to another in hopes of a better life. Now as a part of a recent deal with the US, Panama has seized the route in Central America before the migrants could even reach their destination country.
The irregular migrants were trying to enter the Central American country through a dangerous Darien Gap which is completely sterile due to rainforest. As many as 130 Indians are now deported back to India by the Panama government.

According to recent data, the US is facing more illegal immigration from its Canadian border than the southern one. In the light of this latest news, it shows that a strict approach toward illegal immigration has helped them counter the problem before it even reaches their border. This was the first expulsion of immigrants in Panama, which faced pressure from the US and even got $6 million for repatriation.
Panama has deported the migrants back to India on a charter flight to New Delhi where they might face more difficulties for illegally leaving the country. It remains a harsh reality that people facing economic crisis would rather travel abroad in the dreams of a better life than hope for any long-term aid from the government.
