The presidential elections in the USA are around the corner and both presidential contestants, Donald Trump from the Republican Party and Kamala Harris from the Democratic Party are intensifying their respective campaigns.
Meanwhile, Oscar-winning Indian music composer AR Rahman recorded a 30-minute performance video, supporting Kamala Harris. He is the first South Asian artist to support a presidential candidate of mixed Indian and African origin.

The Asian-American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Victory Fund Chairperson, Shekar Narasimhan stated that with this performance, Rahman joined the list of leaders and artists who are standing up for progress and representation in America.
Shekar further added that this is not just a musical event but a call to action for our Asian American communities to engage and vote for the future they want to see.

According to the sources, Rahman’s video features some of his most popular songs, his note supporting Kamala Harris and her commitment to the AAPI community.
It remains to be seen how much Rahman’s support will help Kamala gain votes from the Asian American community.
