Amazon Prime’s latest show Khauf, starring Monika Panwar, Chum Darang, and Rajat Kapoor, is being hailed by many as one of the best horror series in recent times.

The series is praised not just for relying on traditional horror elements- dim lighting, eerie background music, and jump scares, but for delving into social and psychological horrors as well.

It breaks the conventional boundaries of the horror genre and delivers something truly spine-chilling.

Rather than creating a purely fictional world of horror, Khauf is heavily inspired by real-life incidents, making it all the more disturbing.

Despite having its fair share of loopholes and inconsistencies, the show overall is gripping and memorable.

The series also features a cast of lesser-known actors who deliver powerful performances with incredible conviction.

Prime Video has an “X-Ray” feature that usually highlights the cast and provides more information about them. However, this feature has been inconsistent for the cast of Khauf.

This is quite disappointing, as the cast truly deserves more recognition and hype.

We’ve seen many of these actors in background roles across films and shows, but when they finally get the opportunity to shine and deliver such intense performances, even the streaming platforms tend to overlook them.

India has an abundance of talented young actors who deserve the spotlight. It’s high time streaming platforms give them the recognition they truly deserve.
