Imtiaz Ali is currently making a new romantic show for Netflix and Avinash Tiwary has been chosen to play the lead role. The show is reportedly titled O Saathi Rey and marks Imtiaz and Avinash’s second collaboration after Laila Majnu.
The makers have reportedly finalized Arjun Rampal, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Ahsaas Channa to play other important roles. Imtiaz has written the story and his brother Arif will serve as the director for all the episodes.

The show is being produced by Window Seat Films and it is going to be an intense romantic drama where Arjun and Aditi would appear as a married couple. It would focus on the consequences of extramarital affairs, with Avinash’s character playing the third person.
The makers have not revealed a lot of details about the show’s potential release date or when it is going to start filming. However, it is going to be a completely different show arriving on Netflix compared to the ones that have been released over the years.

Imtiaz Ali is one of those directors who never changed his focus away from romantic films. While his initial projects became cult classics, his last two theatrical releases, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Love Aaj Kal 2, failed to become successful.
Imtiaz had already helmed a Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila, which was loved by the audiences. Considering that he is now getting involved in a web series, it remains to be seen if viewers would give a similar response.

The star cast is talented since most of them have been underrated performers. Now it is entirely up to the director to bring out their potential on the screen.
