Suriya’s Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva, was released in theaters on November 14 and ended up as an ultra-disaster. The film is now set to premiere on the Amazon Prime OTT platform on December 8.
Kanguva had massive expectations before its release and was touted as a proper pan-Indian movie from Kollywood. However, post-release, it faced severe backlash and trolling from audiences.

In this context, Kanguva will be available on Amazon Prime in four languages—Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—starting December 8.
Due to the disastrous theatrical response, the OTT release has been advanced to just 24 days after its theatrical release.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version is expected to arrive later, as the team adhered to the National Multiplexes’ 8-week OTT window policy.
Suriya fans on social media are optimistic, suggesting that Kanguva might gain appreciation after its OTT release.

They believe the film’s poor theatrical run was influenced by paid negative campaigns and that audiences will judge it more fairly on OTT.
On the other hand, some predict that Kanguva might turn into a troll fest after its OTT release. They argue that the flaws, which may not have been as noticeable in theaters, could invite more ridicule, potentially even surpassing the trolling faced by Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2.
It remains to be seen whether Kanguva will meet OTT audiences’ expectations and redeem itself or end up as a troll fest on December 8.
