Taapsee Pannu and Kanika Dhillon, the Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba duo, teamed up again to create Netflix action-thriller Gandhari. Being Directed by Devashish Makhija the film delves into the heightened narrative of a mother who would resort to any means to rescue her abducted child.
The concept assures high-octane action and also emotive depth, but skepticism mounts since the pair’s recent run of sub-par performances. Pannu, whose versatility was also seen in Pink and Thappad, has experienced a series of flops at the box office in films such as Dunki and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

Likewise, Dhillon’s script has been criticized as not being able to engage the audience in recent releases. All this has caused some to call their work a “disastrous combo,” questioning whether Gandhari has a future.
Though the duo is receiving backlash, they are optimistic. Pannu underwent strict training to fit her part, recalling it as a physical and emotional ordeal. Dhillon cited raw power and the creative liberties available under Netflix.
