Criminal Justice Season 4 on Jio Hotstar has been receiving mixed feedback from OTT viewers.
While some still praise the show’s core storytelling, many fans are terribly disappointed — and the reason isn’t the content itself, but the release strategy.

Jio Hotstar has chosen to drop just one episode per week — a move that’s frustrating for fans who expect a crime thriller to be a binge-watch experience, not a slow drip.
Despite repeated backlash online, the platform hasn’t budged from its weekly release schedule.

A new episode dropped yesterday, but when we checked major platforms like X and Instagram to get a sense of audience reaction, it was nearly silent.
No chatter, no trending tags, barely any discussion. That’s a red flag for any OTT release.

Now, does this mean viewership has dropped?
We can’t say that for sure — only Jio Hotstar has access to the actual streaming data.
But what’s clear is that the buzz on social media has sharply declined, and in the OTT world, less buzz often leads to fewer views. Shows that generate excitement online usually attract more viewers organically, and in this case, that momentum seems to be missing.
Unless the platform rethinks its strategy, interest might continue to fall. If they do realize that the weekly drop is hurting engagement, they might release all remaining episodes at once — which would definitely help bring back some attention.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see if JioHotstar listens to its viewers, or continues playing it old-school.
