The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan

Netflix India has been time and again charged with bias and a left-leaning ideology. Whether this has been intentional in previous projects is debatable, but currently the OTT giant is again allegedly operating with a biased agenda.

The new sports documentary ‘The Greatest Rivalry: India vs Pakistan’ has come out now and is gathering huge views. There are people who think it to be outrageous on the grounds that it not only hides many facts but also tries to glorify Pakistan for the false reasons.

Fans say that the documentary does not show Pakistan’s rigging of a match in Sharjah and winning it. It also does not show Sachin Tendulkar’s awesome innings against Shoaib Akhtar’s bowling.

Fans think Netflix is again up with its so-called liberal projects and trying to emphasize on leftist ideology that wants to praise and appease Pakistan.

The nationalist sentiment of Indians has been hurt by Netflix with projects like ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’, ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ etc and people don’t want the ‘woke’ transformation of stories. They want the truth. And documentaries should concern themselves with truth only.

There is also the criticism that it was a deliberate attempt to undermine Virat Kohli’s greatness by omitting some of his most wonderful matches.

A lot of potential drama is somehow missed and even though there is a huge OTT crowd that is liking the movie, it is starting a massive controversy and it will not stop here.
