When it comes to Telugu OTT space, especially TV series, it has largely remained entertainment-starved.
Only a handful of titles come to mind—like Kumari Srimathi starring Nithya Menen, which was a big success on Prime Video in 2023, or the nostalgic 90s series on ETV Win. Beyond these, there are very few Telugu TV series that truly stand out.

In this relatively dry landscape, a new show is set to make its mark—Devika & Danny premiering on Jio Hotstar on June 6th.
The trailer is out now, and it introduces an interesting ensemble cast including Ritu Varma, Subbaraju, Siva Kandukuri, Gokaraju Ramana and others.

Ritu Varma’s character, in particular, appears to carry a refreshing twist, adding intrigue to the show’s premise.
The trailer suggests entertainment potential. However, its presentation leans more toward a cinematic style than that of a typical series—with fast-paced edits and a “filmy” feel, which might have taken away from establishing a distinct TV show vibe.

That said, Devika & Danny looks promising, backed by good production values from Sudhakar Chaganti’s Joy Films. Keep an eye out for its premiere on June 6th.
